Hyde Park

Hyde Park is said to be the largest of London’s parks. In the north-east corner, at the end of Oxford Street, is the Marble Arch, which was meant to be the main gate into Buckingham Palace. In the south-east corner, there is the old Duke of Wellington’s home. While he was alive he was so famous in England that the address of the house was simply Number One, London. On the south side is the Albert hall, where many concerts are held every year. Nearby is the Albert Memorial. He was the most beloved husband of Queen Victoria. It is made of different kinds of stone from all over Britain.

Inside the park, you can watch the horse riders on the famous Rotten Row or take a boat out on the Serpentine lake. Children can go and have a fun in the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Playground.
